Trying to get better at getting better

Earlier this year I was involved in three activities at the 2024 IFOMPT conference, all related to the topic of Generative AI in Physiotherapy: a pre-conference workshop, focused symposium, and survey. The purpose of these activities was two-fold; explore and discuss the potential of this emerging technology in practice, and to gather insight from the community to prepare a document aimed at stimulating discussion in the profession.

We have now collated the notes from our preparations, discussions, and feedback from colleagues, into a discussion document that we are sharing for public comment. The aim of the document is to serve as a stimulus for physiotherapy departments, schools, and organisations to engage in conversation about what this technology might mean for the profession.

If you’re a physiotherapist (or any healthcare professional) and would like to have your say in guiding the conversation as profession engages with this important topic, please consider setting aside an hour to review the document and add your comments.

Please note that we’ll be closing comments on the document on 31 December 2024.

If you’re not logged in to a Google account, your comments will be anonymous. So if you’d like to be acknowledged for your contributions, please be sure to add your name to your comments.
