In this video, I do a walk-through of the weekly review that I do every Friday afternoon. This weekly review is a sweep through my entire personal and professional life, where I try to wrap up everything that might cause me any worry after I leave work. My weekly review is basically a process of closing all my open loops, which allows me to disconnect for the weekend.
Capturing detailed notes on my weekly activity means that I’m free to stop worrying about them. In a very real sense, I can simply forget them.
I also don’t need to worry about getting derailed when a crisis comes up. I can drop whatever’s on my plate because when the crisis is over I can go back to my review and track back what I still need to do.
Having a weekly review process means that I can let go.
