Trying to get better at getting better

I used to think of all notes as the same regardless of where I took them, what I intended doing with them, and what purpose they served. Then about a year ago I realised that this ad hoc approach to note-taking was serving my needs as a knowledge worker and so started thinking about academic notes as a first-class citizen in my work, fundamentally changing my thinking around not only note-taking but writing in general.

In this video I briefly cover 4 types of notes that I use and how I structure each of them; admin notes (daily, weekly, and monthly reviews), temporary notes, literature notes, and permanent notes. This isn’t a deep dive into any of particular apps and tries to cover principles so that you can use whatever app you’re most comfortable with.
