Trying to get better at getting better

I recently noticed the Gemini icon in the top right of a Google Doc, which I haven’t seen before, and I’m not sure how long it’s been available. When you press the icon you get a little suggestion to try Gemini with your writing (see below).

I haven’t tried it yet (mostly because I know what it’s going to do), but it reminded me of this excerpt from a post published by Ethan Mollick more than a year ago:

…when faced with the tyranny of the blank page, people are going to push The Button… Students are going to use it start essays. Managers are going to use it to start emails, or reports, or documents. Teachers will use it when providing feedback. Scientists will use to write grants… when AI gets integrated into a familiar tool, adoption becomes simple. Everyone is going to use The Button.
