Trying to figure out better ways to help people learn.

The other day I was in the middle of something and had a fleeting thought about something else. And it occurred to me that someone else might be interested to hear my thought about the something else.

But I was out and about and so a blog post wasn’t an option.

And I realised it might make sense to start recording Shorts that I could post to YouTube, with these conditions:

  • No more than 60 seconds of recording.
  • No preparation.
  • No editing.
  • Single take.

So these are likely to be hot-takes with little to no forethought, filled with assumptions, and prone to mistakes. In other words, perfect for YouTube Shorts.

Here’s my first attempt, where I explain why you don’t need to track student attendance in class if your assessments are valid.
