Trying to get better at getting better

I was recently reminded that many health professionals are still finding it difficult to integrate generative AI into their professional practice. If this is you, you may be interested in the AI Masterclass for Healthcare Professionals course I created, in collaboration with Physiopedia Plus, at the end of 2024. While a lot has changed in the field of generative AI since then, the core principles remain valid and useful for anyone working in healthcare.

Here are a few testimonials from recent participants:

I work as a physiotherapist and I am currently supervising two students. This course gave me some ideas on how to use artificial intelligence (AI) to create some learning content and case studies to practice and assess the clinical reasoning of my students. Also, I better understand how I can use AI to help me save time by creating some educational resources that I could give to patients and for the writing of clinical notes. I recently tried the Physiopedia AI by discussing a complex cervicogenic dizziness case that I had and it gave me some relevant ideas on how to treat the patient’s symptoms. I will use it in the future when I have a complex case.

The course was extremely insightful and practical, providing a realistic view of the role of AI in healthcare. It was particularly useful in understanding how to integrate AI ethically and effectively into clinical practice, enhancing rather than replacing clinical reasoning. A very enriching and applicable experience for daily practice!

This has been a great introduction into AI and how it can be used in health care. The one thing that has stuck with me is the quote “the only limit to the use of AI is your own imagination”. I think that by internalising this allows you the space to be more creative and in that creativity find new or unique solutions.

I used AI to help diagnose a difficult complex patient. It guided me to include assessments I did not think of before.

I have a better understanding on how to use AI in clinical practice, the correct inputs to obtain ideas and not answers. How to correctly prompt with sensitive patient information to generate programmes.

This course really encouraged me to explore AI in my practice. I feel a lot more confident to use AI not only administrative but also in complex patients diagnosis and management. The course presentation was captivating! Thank you
