The exam was fair because I treat all of our students the same.
- It was an open book assessment.
- Every student had the same amount of time to complete the task.
- They all had internet access.
- They received the same clear instructions.
- They all had the same list of resources to use.
- They could all email me with any questions.
But some of them were working on desktop computers with two screens. Others completed it on their phones.
Treating them equally isn’t the same as being fair.
And we’ll never get this right unless we take the time to learn more about them.
